Helping Individuals Heal and Couples Reconnect
Dr. Pia L. Scott-Boston is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Educator, Consultant, and Speaker who specializes in trauma-informed care and couples counseling. She is passionate about helping individuals and couples understand how life experiences, relationship patterns, and unresolved emotional wounds impact their current functioning and relationships.
Her clinical work focuses on supporting adults and couples who are navigating the effects of childhood trauma, relational trauma, attachment wounds, anxiety, chronic stress, communication difficulties, and major life transitions. She helps clients move beyond survival patterns by developing greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, healthy boundaries, and stronger interpersonal connections.
In her work with couples, she helps partners identify and interrupt negative communication cycles, rebuild trust, improve emotional intimacy, and strengthen their ability to navigate conflict effectively. She recognizes that many relationship challenges are rooted in unmet emotional needs and attachment experiences and works collaboratively with couples to create healthier patterns of communication, connection, and mutual understanding.
As a trauma-informed clinician, Dr. Scott-Boston understands the impact of adverse experiences on emotional, relational, and physical well-being. She provides a safe, culturally responsive environment where clients can process trauma, explore relationship dynamics, develop resilience, and heal without judgment. Her approach emphasizes empowerment, emotional safety, and practical strategies that support long-term growth and healing.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Scott-Boston has extensive experience in education, leadership, and community engagement. She is committed to increasing awareness of mental health, relationship wellness, and the importance of culturally responsive care, particularly within underserved communities.
Dr. Scott-Boston integrates trauma-informed, attachment-based, cognitive-behavioral, and strengths-based approaches to help clients gain insight, foster healing, and create meaningful change. She believes that healing occurs through authentic connection, increased self-understanding, and the development of healthier relationships with oneself and others.
Her mission is to help individuals and couples break unhealthy cycles, heal from past experiences, strengthen emotional connections, and build lives and relationships that reflect their values, goals, and sense of purpose.
